What's New?
We survived everything that 2020 and 2021 threw at us, but the drought of 2022 was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back. We hated to do it, but we sold the whole herd of cattle. With our health issues, steadily increasing price of feed, and the poor cattle market, it was time to throw in the towel. We will instead let the front hay pasture mature with the hope of being able to cut and bale it to sell to other ranchers. Our back pasture will remain a haven for wildlife.
Winter is when we start noticing different birds and ducks, as they make their way south from colder climates north of us.
Spring is our special time in Texas. Summer is just plain HOT and we really don't do much of anything other than be thankful we have air conditioning! ....and we really don't have an Autumn. |
