After four years of just "keeping house," our mated pair of Canada geese finally had two babies!
Thirty acres of hay field, thirty acres of oak scrub and timber, and thirty acres of natural grassland are all home to abundant native wildlife. In addition, two ponds are on the property, providing nearly eight acres under water. As a "semi-official" Texas wildlife habitat, we adhere to a wildlife management plan overseen by the State of Texas / Montague County. Providing food and water, forage areas, predatory control, and nesting habitat are all part of what makes the Ranch a home for animals as well as its caretakers. No hunting is allowed at the Ranch, although fishing (by family and friends only) is welcomed. These are some of the critters spotted here on the Ranch:

Located within the Central Flyway bird migration route from Canada and Alaska to Mexico and South America, the Ranch is also home to a large number of birds - both native and seasonal visitors. These are some of the migratory birds spotted here on the Ranch - even a trumpeter swan!!!!!
